Mr. John Wesley Norris, 84, of Shelby, NC passed away on October 15, 2025 at Hospice Wendover. He was born on April 8, 1941 to the late Grover Norris Sr. and Mary Lumpkin Norris.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty years, Diana Kirkland Norris; his son, Jonathan Norris; ten sisters - Bessie, Cynthia, Bertha, Lourine, Omie, Geneva "Nick", Ruby, Christine, Emma, and one deceased twin; and seven brothers - Robert Jr., Grover Jr., Les, Oscar, Woodrow, and two other deceased brothers.

He is survived by his sisters, Eva Norris Jennings (Bobby), Kay F. Allen, and Isabell Rivers; a host of nieces and nephews that he loved as his own; and a special deacon, Carlos Merritt, whom he loved dearly.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Palmer Grover Baptist Church.
