John “Wolf” Deyton
John “Wolf” Deyton, age 64, of Union Mills and formerly of Roebuck, SC, died Friday, October 12, 2012 in the presence of his loving family.
     John was born January 10, 1948 in Spartanburg County, SC to the John Hubert Deyton, Sr. and Eloise Parton Deyton.  He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1966 and was a Vietnam War veteran, having served his country in the US Navy.  He worked in the construction industry most of his life and was known as a “jack of all trades.”  He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and also had a passion for the guitar, singing and songwriting. He was a highly talented musician.  He was an active member of and served as a deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Roebuck, SC.
     In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Deyton, Joyce Downey and one brother, James “Buddy” Deyton.
     Besides his mother, survivors include his son, Clinton Deyton and wife, Natalie of Forest City; two sisters, Carolyn Killian and husband, James of Union Mills and Betty White and husband, Freddie of Henrietta; two brothers, Scott Deyton and wife, Louise of Caroleen and Jerry Deyton and wife, Teresa of Gainesville, GA.  He is also survived by five grandchildren, Micah Deyton, Claire Deyton, Cheyenne Deyton, Clinton Deyton and John Deyton.
     Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Roebuck, SC with Reverends Frankie Taylor, Robert Harris, David Mattox and Dr. Ray Robinson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at Harrelson Funeral Home and also starting at 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Monday.  Interment will follow in High Shoal Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
     Memorials are suggested to the charity of choice.
