MOORESBORO - Johnnie Geneva Bennett, 82, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, February 20, 2021. She was born in Cleveland County to the late Dewey and Worthy Eaker Bostic. Also predeceased by sisters, Mary Willie Street (David), Mattie Sue Whitener, Alice McKinney (Bobby) and Oscar Patty.

Geneva leaves behind to cherish her memories her spouse of 61 years, Joe Bennett of the home; daughters, Pam Elliott (Tim) and Freida Caldwell (Scott); grandchildren, Melissa Peake (Tommy), Heather Champion (Daniel) and Jessica Childers (Tim); great-grandchildren, Evan Peake, Emily Peake and Wardell Childers; sister, Lib Patty; brother-in-law, Larry Whitener; several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Gantts Grove Baptist Church, Mooresboro, NC. She loved her husband dearly and in turn he took very good care of her. She enjoyed being around family and friends. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Gantts Grove Baptist Church, 626 Gantts Grove Church Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Robert Lane and Scott Caldwell officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Internment will be in the Church Cemetery immediately following the service.
