Johnny Alexander Jamison passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at his residence. He was a son of the late J.A. Jamison and Lillian Philbeck Jamison, of Cleveland County.

Johnny worked for NCDOT for 42 years before retiring. He was a faithful member of Beaver Dam Church for three years. Johnny was an avid NC Tarheel Basketball fan and he enjoyed football games and NASCAR. One of his favorite past times was enjoying a meal at Ken and Mary's. He also loved traveling to Gatlinburg, TN, the beach, and looked forward to going to California to visit family. Johnny's personality was such that he "never met a stranger."

Johnny is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, June Jamison; nieces, Donna Moore and Tracy Oats; nephews, Jamie Jamison and Tim Jamison; and special friends, Franklin and Margaret Brackett.

In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his daughter, April Rachelle Sprague and two brothers, James and Don Jamison.

A visitation will be Friday, June 23, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Beaver Dam Baptist Church, 123 Beaver Dam Baptist Church Rd, Shelby, NC. A Celebration of Life will be Friday, June 23, 2023 at the church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Tom Runyon officiating. Interment will be at the church cemetery immediately following the service.
