Johnny Eugene Laws, 47, of Vale, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.

Johnny (John John) was born on June 8, 1976 in Catawba County, NC a son of John David Laws of Hickory and Joan Hull of Vale. He worked as a cook and loved fishing at the Carolina coast with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Laws; grandparents Max and Betty Jo Hull and June and Frances Laws; and best friend Allen Cook.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Cindy; son, Hunter Laws; daughter Rachel Cunningham; grandson Carter Laws; and also, Uncle Steve Laws (Betty), Aunt Debbie Milstead (Clayton), Aunt Maxine Leatherman (Clarence), Uncle Kelly Hull (Danielle) and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
