Johnny Lee Pruett, 59, of Casar, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Atrium Health - Cleveland, Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County on July 16, 1962, he was a son of the late Carl John Pruett and Nevea Chapman Pruett. He was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Danny Pruett, Richard "MeWill" Pruett and an infant brother.

He is survived by his daughter Marie Pruett of Ellenboro; two brothers, David Pruett of Casar and Billy Pruett of Shelby; a sister, Janie Beatty and husband A.B. of Casar and six grandchildren, D.J. Thornton, Brooklyn Thornton, Courtney Thornton, Jennifer Jenkins, Ryleigh Jenkins and Mason Jenkins.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 3:00PM until 5:00PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Janie and AB Beatty, 425-1 Parker Rd., Casar, NC 28020.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 11:00AM at Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. James Wedgeworth officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
