Johnny Marshall Bradley

Johnny Marshall Bradley, 87, was called by his God to his eternal home in heaven joining the love of his life, Frankie Bradley on Thursday, December 10, 2020.

He was born in Barker's Creek, Jackson County, North Carolina to the late Ernest Theodore Bradley and wife Nellie Olivia Parris Bradley. He was preceded in death by his parents, step mother Bessie Bradley, sisters Dora Alice Darby (Boyce) and Barbara Rose Brooks (Bill), brother Bobby Dean Bradley, the love of his life and wife, Frankie S. Bradley, and daughter-in-law Lisa H. Bradley.

After graduating from Lowell High School, Lowell, NC where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Marshall married Frankie S. Bradley starting their family, raising four boys and working in textiles. He enjoyed a 51-year career in textiles in Gaston and Cleveland counties in a variety of positions with various textile companies. He retired as Vice-President of Artee/Wrap Spun Industries Inc. in Shelby, NC. He served many years on the board of the Salvation Army in Shelby, NC.

Marshall was a member of Zoar Baptist Church, Shelby, NC for the last 56 years serving as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, RA Leader, and served on many committees over those years. He was a member of Ranlo Baptist Church, Ranlo, NC prior to that and serving there as well. His faith in God was strong and his influence on others equally strong. He was devoted to his church and church family and was recognized as a very generous servant leader at his church and in the community. He was a peacemaker often called on for advice and counsel. He loved God, his family, his church and church family very much.

Marshall was a devoted husband to Frankie S. Bradley for 64 years, together raising four boys in a Christian household resulting in 14 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. He was very active his entire life. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and boating, taking care of his horses, raising vegetable gardens, traveling especially to the North Carolina mountains frequently to visit family and on family vacations. His love and generosity knew no limits to his family, his church and many friends. A humble Christian who you could count on throughout his life.

He is survived by four sons, Mickey R. Bradley (Paulette), Marshall Duane Bradley (Gay), Terry Lee Bradley (Dawn), Gary B. Bradley (Beth), all of Shelby, NC. Also surviving are grandchildren, Travis Bradley (Nikki), Kelli Webber (Matt), Kari Ellsworth (Ryan), Caleb Bradley (Alex), Bradley Edmondson, Anna McGill (Denny), Christine Young, Chi Trinh (Hua), Jon Bradley, Allison Jenkins (Kyle), Ashton Wease (Jason), Krystal Spurling (Travis), Jordan Bradley (Brandi), Cassie Poston (Scott), and 44 great grandchildren

The family wishes to recognize and thank all the dedicated healthcare heroes at Atrium Healthcare, Shelby, NC for taking great care of Johnny Marshall Bradley during these last few weeks.

We also want to thank all our friends and family for your prayers, cards, calls and well wishes that carried the family through these most difficult times.

A graveside service will be held 2:30pm, Tuesday, December 115, 2020 in Cleveland Memorial Park, with the Rev. Dr. Danny West officiating. It is recommended those attending wear masks and practice social distancing with your family.
