Joseph Lee Parker

Joseph Lee Parker, 10, joined the Lord on Tuesday, October 16, 2012.  Joe-Joe was born in Mecklenburg County and was the son of Travis Lee and Ashley Lee Lemons Parker.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother Kay Hopper Lemons.  Joe-Joe loved motorcycles and singing songs.  He never met a stranger – he loved everyone.  Hearing the roar of the Windjammer’s motorcycles excited him and put a big smile on his face. 

 

Along with his parents, Joe-Joe is survived by his two sisters, Abagail and Katlynn Parker; grandparents, Ricky Lemons and wife Terry of Boiling Springs, Gary Parker and wife Marie of Vale, and Barbara Parker of the home; uncles, Wayne Parker and wife Stephanie of Bessemer City, Alan Parker of Vale, John Lemons wife Nikki of Shelby, Shane Nations and wife Christy of Chesnee, Wesley Campbell and wife Sierra of Dallas; and special friend, Miss Elizabeth Beaver.

 

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at New Hope Baptist Church.  The Rev. Tom Hardis will be officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00pm prior to the service at the church.  At other times the family will be at the home.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are sent to Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home, 106 Cherryville Road, Shelby, NC 28150, to defray funeral expenses.
