Josh Barnes, age 27, of Forest City, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at his residence.
Josh was born on February 2, 1991 in Rutherford County and worked several years for Bud's Junkyard and also as a small engine mechanic. Josh enjoyed fishing and was a past member of Wilson Baptist Church and a current member of Liberty Baptist Church. Josh was a humble man who loved others and exhibited a strong resolve for life. His unfailing desire to live led him to be a two time cancer survivor.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Charles "Bud" Barnes and Robert Earl Conner.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Patricia Brooks Barnes; step-son, Elisha Benson of the home; father, Mark Barnes (Angie) of Forest City; mother, Melissa Conner Barnes (Verne Williams) of Forest City; one sister, Amber Barnes of Forest City; his grandmothers, Dorcas Fish Barnes and Doris Baynard Fish both of Forest City; aunt, Vivian B. Helton of Forest City; great-uncle, Robert Barnes of the Chase Community and a nephew, Mason Wood also of Forest City.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Chad Sisk and Reverend Mack Tester officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
