Joshua Wayne Anthony, 28, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023.

Josh was born on February 11, 1994 in Cleveland County, NC son of Wayne Anthony and Amy James Anthony. He was a 2012 graduate of Cherryville High School. Josh also received an Associates degree from Gaston College and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from UNC-Charlotte. He attended Midview Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.

Josh was preceded in death by an infant brother, Tyler Wayne Anthony and an aunt, Tammy Gordon.

Survivors include his parents Wayne and Amy Anthony; two sisters, Jenna Anthony and Brooke Hawkins both of Cherryville; maternal grandmother, Brenda James; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Also surviving are special friends who were like family, Diane Strickland, Erica Strickland and Carsten Strickland.

The family will receive friends from 1:30PM to 2:45PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating.

Burial will follow the service at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville.
