Joy McSwain Shytle, 80 of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at her residence.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Parker of Pensacola, Fl., and seven grandchildren.
Born February 7, 1937 in Cleveland County, NC, Joy was the daughter of the late G S McSwain and Lorene Champion McSwain (Brown) and was preceded in death by a son, Steven Davis Shytle.
Joy was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and a former member of Zion Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 - 12:00 pm on Monday, January 22, 2018 prior to the funeral service at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm conducted by Rev. Eric Davis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
