Joyce D. Rhodes, age 72, of Doggett Road, Forest City, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Willow Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Joyce was born August 11, 1947 in Rutherford County to the late Earl Ballard and Betty Womack Ballard. She worked as a clerk for Roses Department Store and as a greeter a Wal-Mart for several years. Joyce was a member of Grace Missionary Methodist Church and enjoyed baking cakes and pies. She also was also an English Bulldog and Horse enthusiast.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, Arthur Rhodes, Sr. and brother-in-law, Danny Silver.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Rebecca Rhodes Millette (Brian) of Forest City; son, Arthur Lawrence Rhodes, Jr. (Lynn Wright) of Gaffney; grandson, Jamie Davis (Haley) of Forest City; sister, Shirley Ann Silver of Mooresboro; brother-in-law, Kenneth Rhodes of Ohio; aunt, Francis Scarlata of Louisiana.

The service will be private for the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Harrelson Funeral Home, 1251 US Highway 221A, Forest City, NC 28043 to help defray funeral costs.
