Joyce Hendrick Strickland

Joyce Hendrick Strickland, 90, of Fallston Road, Shelby went to her heavenly home with her daughters by her side on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.

Joyce was born on August 22, 1935, in Cleveland County, to the late Conan Doyle Hendrick and Margaret Louella Wright Hendrick. She was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was loving known by her kids and grandkids as Mama Joyce, MJ, and Weewee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Strickland; two brothers, William "Billy" Hendrick and C.D. Hendrick, Jr. and three sisters, Marshall Ann Williams, Juanita Hoyle and Mary Alice Laughlin.

She is survived by three daughters, Sheila Pack and husband, Buddy of Fallston, Pam Mayhew and husband, Lee of Shelby and Cheryl Price and husband, Ted of Shelby; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, Jonathan Greene (Vivianna) and children Bailey, Sophie and Landon, Chelsea Hughes (Andrew) and children Easton and Bennett, Erika Stronach (Aaron) and son, Gunner, Andrian Baker and children, Zachary and Ayden, Buddy Pack (Tosha) and children, Makenzie, Paisley and Ayden, Kevin Pack (Ashton) and daughter, Harper and Haley Moore (Taylor) and children Landon and Brantley.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday April 1, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Toby Bird officiating.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Shelby.
