Cherryville - Ms. Joyce Kathryn Doty, 88, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Peak Resources in Shelby.

Joyce was born in Cleveland County, NC on February 12, 1933 a daughter of the late Garland Doty and Vassie Walker Doty. She was a retired sales clerk from Dixie Lumber Company in Cherryville. Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church in Cherryville and the Irene McSwain Truth Seekers Sunday school class. She loved reading her Bible, working crossword puzzles and going Christmas caroling.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ward, James, Gene and Vail Doty; sisters-in-law, Frances Clarke, Mozelle Doty and Alma Doty and a nephew Mike Doty.

Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Doty of Cherryville; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Doty of Shelby; a nephew and three nieces.

Visitation will be from 12:45PM to 1:45PM on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Cherryville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Vince Hefner and Rev. Priscilla Walker officiating.

Burial will be in City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville.
