Joyce Owens Ward, 75, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Atrium Health Cleveland. Born in Cleveland County on May 28, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Renzo Caris Owens and Mary C Black Owens.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two brothers, Alfred Owens and Rev. Caris Owens, Jr.. Joyce was an active member of Victory Baptist Church and will be remembered for her deep love for the beach and family.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 38 years, Donald Ward, her son, Robbie Elliot wife Miranda, daughter Priss Raffaldt husband Richard, brother Gene Owens, as well as, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory is her special nephew, Paul Owens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM - 7:30PM Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Friday, March 24, 2023 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bob Reeise officiating. Burial will follow the service at Cleveland Memorial Park.
