Juanita Clemons Lykins

Juanita Clemons Lykins, 85 of Metcalf Road, Shelby NC passed away Wednesday,
January 16, 2019, peacefully at her beloved home.

Juanita was born March 16, 1933 in Mt. Sterling, KY, a daughter of Brock
and Lula Clemons. She was a Rosemary Circle member of the National Herb
Society, longtime member and past President of the Foothills Herb Society,
an American Rose Society Accredited Judge, long time member of the Cleveland
County Rose Society, a published poet, a talented herbalist and
horticultural researcher, and an avid reader. Juanita was a gentle shepherd
of people who had an amazing talent for quietly reaching into the hearts and
minds of those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her son Charles
Montgomery Lykins, her husband Noel Ray Lykins, brothers Ray, Donald and
Arthur, and sister Wanda.

She is survived by her son David Dudley Lykins, daughter Sarah Lykins
Entsminger (Richard), and her grandsons Clay Richard Entsminger, Matthew
Montgomery Entsminger and John Henry Lykins Entsminger, her brothers Alvin
Douglas Clemons and Edward Clemons and sister Joan Clemons Schaller.

The funeral service will be held in the Old Chapel at The Episcopal Church
of the Redeemer, 502 W Sumter Street, Shelby NC on January 22, 2019 at 11am,
followed by a private interment in Sunset Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor may be made to your favorite
literacy program or public library.
