Juanita Dellinger Cloninger

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Juanita Dellinger Cloninger, 79, of Kings Mountain, NC, who departed peacefully on January 6, 2026, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain. Born on July 15, 1946, in Cherokee County, SC, she was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas F. and Katherine Morris Dellinger. Juanita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James "Jim" Cloninger, and her dear sister, Judy D. Cloninger. Juanita's journey through life began as an enthusiastic student at Kings Mountain Senior High School, where she not only excelled in her studies but also participated in the marching band, earning the distinguished title of Homecoming Queen in her senior year in 1964. Her vibrant spirit and dedication resonated throughout her community, particularly during her long-standing commitment to Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. For nearly five decades, Juanita paved a remarkable career in the banking industry, starting as a teller right after her graduation. She was proud to have witnessed the evolution of her workplace over the years, ultimately serving as branch manager at Wells Fargo until her retirement in 2013. Her colleagues and customers knew her not just for her professionalism but for the warm and caring nature she brought to her role. Known for her servant's heart, Juanita could always be counted on to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her devotion to family was unwavering, as she selflessly cared for both her parents and her sister, Judy, offering them love and support at every turn. Outside of her professional life, Juanita found joy in the simple pleasures--shopping adventures, the timeless music of Elvis Presley and Alan Jackson, and always having her beloved Sun-Drop close by. Yet, the highlight of her life was undoubtedly her family, who were the center of her universe. Juanita loved fiercely and lived for the moments spent with them, always ready to lend support and fill their lives with laughter and warmth. Juanita's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. As we remember her, we celebrate a life filled with kindness, dedication, and unconditional love. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will forever remain with us.
