June Lookabill, 87, died Thursday, July 22, 2021 at White Oak Manor in Shelby.

Born in Johnson County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Macton and Bessie Brown Lawrence. June worked at Dairy Queen for 34 years, enjoyed reading her Bible and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lookabill; son, James Lookabill; brother, Earl Lawrence; sisters, Eleanor Burns and Hazel Love; and son in law, Butch Lemmons.

She is survived by her son, Johnny Lookabill and wife Myla of Shelby; daughters, Connie Hicks and husband Jerry of Rutherfordton, Mary Sue Lemmons and Shelia Cooper, both of Shelby; grandchildren, Alecia Urmston, Jamey Cabiness, Jeremy Lookabill, Dr. Heather Lemmons, Anthony Hicks and Kimberly Pendleton; great grandchildren, Sydney Urmston, Hunter Cabiness, Carson Lookabill, Jesse Lookabill, Chloe Lookabill, William Hicks and Bria June Hicks; and family friend, Janet Martin.

Funeral services will be held 2pm, Monday, July 26, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Barry Miles officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
