Karen Denise Mitchem, 70, formerly of Vale and Crouse, NC passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Carolina Rehab Center of Burke, Connelly Springs, NC.

Denise was born at Edwards Clinic in Toluca, NC on May 31, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Lathue N. Mitchem and Nancy Williams Mitchem. She attended West Lincoln High School and Pfeiffer University, Misenheimer, NC.

Survivors include her sister, Donita M. Rhoney (Larry) of Vale, two nieces, Olivia R. Skinner (Derek) of Monroe and Sara R. Bameycastle (Daniel) of Mooresville, NC. Beloved aunt to Rachel and Samuel Skinner and Cecilia Barneycastle. Denise is also survived by her longtime companion Ralph Elmore, Jr. of Crouse, NC.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
