Karen Elizabeth Taylor, age 56 of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

She is survived by her husband, James Lee Taylor of the home, two sons, Josh Taylor and wife Sierra of Spartanburg, SC, and Wayne Taylor of Shelby, NC, and two grandchildren, Bryson and Bryleigh Taylor.

Born March 1, 1965 in Cleveland County, NC, Karen was the daughter of the late James McMurry and Thelma Lee Truelove McMurry and was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy McMurry.

Karen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, helping her husband cut grass, and spending time with her family and friends, especially the grandchildren which was her pride and joy. Karen was a member of Ledford Grove Baptist Church. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone that needed it.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Monday, January 31, 2022 at Ledford Grove Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jackie Price. A visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 am prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
