Kathy Loretta Canipe Neely, 68, of Lawndale, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Atrium Health - Pineville.

Born in Cleveland County on August 8, 1953, she was a daughter of the late Fred Madison Canipe and Gladys Daphine Bumgardner Canipe. She was retired from Honda of Forest City and was a member of the South Mountain Bluegrass Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Robin "Lou" Rich and Janice Thrift.

Survivors include her lifelong companion, Luther Ray Hicks; one son, Lee Neely of Lawndale; two brothers, James "Boo" Canipe and Tim Canipe both of Lawndale and two sisters, Rita Neely of Ellenboro and Lisa Blanton and husband James of Shelby and fur baby, Jasmine.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 2:00PM until 3:00PM at South Mountain Bluegrass Church.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday at 3:00PM at South Mountain Bluegrass Church with the Rev. Jimmy McKee officiating.

The burial will be private.
