Katie Bell, 92, of Shelby, NC passed away on June 21, 2023 at Peak Resources of Cherryville. She was a native of Cleveland County and the daughter of the late George Pinkney Wilson and Virginia Blanton Wilson.

Katie was saved when she was 17 years old and served her Lord faithfully at New Testament Missionary Baptist Church. She worked at several different places throughout her life, but her favorite job was creating a loving home for her husband, Broadus, of 65 years, and her children. Katie grew up on a farm where she enjoyed taking care of and spending time with the animals. she liked growing her own food, canning, making preserves and pickles. She also enjoyed camping in the NC mountains and at SC beaches. Katie had a talent for quilting, knitting and sewing. She was also talented and had a green thumb which was evident by the lovely roses and other flowers she grew.

In addition to her late parents, Katie is predeceased by her loving husband, Broadus Bell; daughter, Julie Power; brothers, Albert, Coleman, Harold, George Jr. and Woodrow Wilson; and sister, Barbara Hardin.

Katie is survived by her son, Kent Bell (Darlene); sisters, Betty Overcash and Janet Enloe; grandchildren, Tomorrow Summey (Tim), Brittany Kiser (Caleb), Jordan Boggs (Drew) and Corey Power; and great-grandchildren, Lily Martin, Emmi Jo Boggs and Wesson Boggs.

A visitation will take place at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. There will be a funeral service at 2:00 PM in the chapel at the funeral home with Rev. Robin Short officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park, Shelby, NC.
