| Kay Bess Patterson, 71, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Crawley Memorial Hospital. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ruth Harmon Bess. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Eugene Patterson and her brother, Ken Bess. Kay was a retired CNA-2 from Cleveland Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Putnam Baptist Church. Kay was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and a beloved friend to all who knew her.
Kay was survived by her son, Todd Patterson of Grover; two daughters, Tina Patterson Melvin and husband Matthew of Kings Mountain and Angela Patterson Pearson of Grover; grandchildren, Nikki Deaver and Matthew Melvin; sister, Pauline Cabaniss of York, SC; brother, Larry Bess and wife Gail of Grover; sister-in-law, Sandra Patterson Weathers of Morganton, NC.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00pm prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the home of Tina and Matthew Melvin in Kings Mountain.
