Kelsey Lauren McCurry

Kelsey Lauren McCurry, 33, passed away peacefully surrounded by her parents after a battle with cancer Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Wendover Hospice.

Born on March 21, 1992, in Cleveland County, NC, she resided in the picturesque community of Boiling Springs, a place she cherished and requested never to leave.

She was the cherished daughter of Barry Dean McCurry and Terri Greene McCurry, both of Boiling Springs. She was a 2011 graduate of Crest High School and thereafter attended Abound Health Day Program, which she loved and considered her second home. Kelsey loved the incredible staff and clients there. She was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church and attended the Youth Sunday School Class. She was a member of Joy Puppet Ministry, Glowing for Jesus.

Kelsey loved many things but more than anything she loved to share Jesus. Her giving spirit and faith allowed her to share hundreds of mini bibles, crosses and mini-Jesus figurines throughout many different hospitals and with friends she met through her cancer journey. She was very talented in arts and crafts, often making and sharing cards and notes with those she loved. She enjoyed various music genres, riding her beloved lime green, golf cart, and her favorite snack, the grape Snoballs from Pelican.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Grady McCurry, her grandmother, Martha C. Greene, her beloved aunt, Debbie Ann Greene, and uncle, Daniel Greene.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her sister, Emily Brigman of Lexington, SC., grandparents, Mary Helen McCurry, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Greene, her beloved pups, Zoe and Ruby Clair, and multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kelsey was a bright light in this world and will be missed by the ones that love her every second of every day.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Wendover Hospice of Shelby for the exceptional care provided to Kelsey during the final month of her life.

Memorials can be made in Kelsey's honor to Wendover Hospice of Shelby / VIA Health Partners.

A funeral service will be held at Boiling Springs Baptist Church at 3:00PM Saturday, June 7, 2025. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
