Kenneth Eugene Deveney, 84, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Atrium Health Cleveland Hospital.

He was born in Cleveland County on August 19, 1940, to the late Claude Everette Deveney and Dorothy Rachel Shoup Deveney.

Kenneth retired from Carolina Freight/ABF Trucking after 30 years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sylvia Melton Deveney; two sons, Kenneth Eugene Deveney Jr. and David Howard Deveney; and two granddaughters, Abigail Deveney and Ragan Deveney. He is also survived by his brother, James Deveney (Brenda).

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, December 19, 2024, in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home, with Pastor David Webb officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at Rosehill Memorial Park.
