Kenneth Wayne Warlick

Kenneth Wayne Warlick, 78, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on August 31, 2023 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC.

Born in Cleveland County, NC, he was son of the late James Lewis Warlick and Ruby Burton Warlick. Wayne was a graduate of Fallston High School, after which he spent a number of years working as a supervisor at Eaton before working at Baldor as a machinist. Wayne loved to travel and take vacations with his family. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, working on his tractor, and landscaping; the latter of which he enjoyed so much that he made a side business of it. Wayne grew up in Mary's Grove Methodist Church and in his adult years attended Jubilee Christian Center in York, SC. He had a sweet, loving smile whose warmth made you feel comfortable and at ease in his presence. He was one of the kindest men you'd ever known, quick to remind someone that "if you can't say something nice about somebody, don't talk about them at all." Wayne lived by these words, never having a bad word to say about anybody--although he did have a look that could instantly communicate his displeasure with you. Wayne was a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, and brother who was dedicated to his family and loved playing with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
