Kevin James Mertz, age 63 of Grover, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Peak Resources - Shelby.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon Brooks Mertz of the home, his children, Tiffany Reed of Raleigh, NC, Kylie Davis of York, SC, and Jacob Mertz of Grover, NC, a grandson, Andrew Davis of York, SC, two brothers, Johnny Mertz (Penny) of Kings Mountain, NC, and Richard Mertz (Kay) of Kings Mountain, NC, a sister, Lisa Burnham of Grover, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born February 3, 1959 in Waterbury, CT, Kevin was the son of the late John Mertz and Doris Camp Mertz and was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Callahan.

Kevin enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by those that knew him.
