Kings Mountain Historical Museum 15th Annual Reverse Raffle & Auction is Sept. 8, 2018

Thanks to the contributions of many local businesses and community members, Kings Mountain Historical Museum's 15th Annual Reverse Raffle & Auction promises big prizes to many of its attendees on Saturday, September 8. Each $125 ticket provides dinner and beverages for two and 1 in 300 chance to win the $10,000 Grand Prize, among dozens of other fantastic raffle prizes. Ticket holders do not have to be present at the event to win these great prizes. Call the museum at 704-739-1019 to check ticket availability.
The theme of this year's event will tie to the museum's current exhibit, A Century of Fashion:1880-1980. Attendees will be caught up in the groove of the 1960s and period dress is encouraged. The event will be held at the H. Lawrence Patrick Senior Life & Conference Center. Doors open at 5:30 pm. The buffet opens at 6:00 pm and will feature beef tenderloin, chicken, and shrimp, with traditional Southern sides and desserts.
In addition to the raffle, guests for the evening will also have the chance to bid on a swell selection of auction items donated by local businesses and community members. This year's live auction will feature A one-night stay at the Great Wolf Lodge, a vacation package for The Inn at Ragged Gardens in Historic Blowing Rock, NC donated by the Inn and by Neisler Brothers, Inc., tickets to the Belk Bowl, and Grandstand Tickets to the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The silent auction and raffle prizes include a wide range of must-haves and little happies for all guests. There will be opportunities to win or bid on great cultural experiences at places like The Bankers House, Charlotte Museum of History and the Schiele Museum of Natural History. Other food and entertainment gift certificates for local restaurants and attractions provide a wider variety of experiences as well. Little happies for the home including unique tool kits, wall-art, furniture, and other home décor. A selection of local artwork will be available, such as jewelry, pottery, hand-crafted kitchenware, and framed prints. Sports-related items will be up for bid, including autographed memorabilia from the Carolina Hurricanes and Carolina Panthers. There will also include an exciting array of health and beauty related items such as gift certificates for local spa and salon services, teeth whitening, massages, and assorted women's hair & beauty product packages. These and many other goodies will be sure to get you excited about local business and events.
This year's delectable cake auction will feature something for everyone's sweet tooth -NY Style Cheesecake, Hummingbird Cake, and a variety of pound cakes and pies, and other delicious made-from-scratch baked goods.

Community members contribute many specialty goods and services to make the event unique. Gifted florist Susan Patterson of InSeason Florals donates all of the gorgeous floral arrangements and centerpiece designs for the evening, and her son, Brandon Patterson of Design 1:26, provides professional graphic design work to create polished event brochures. The fundraiser requires aa large team of committed volunteers, some who work various jobs for the evening to help the event run smoothly, and others who volunteer year-round to help in the ongoing planning process.
