Kingstown observes Martin Luther King Jr. Day

The only town in the United States named after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is in Cleveland County. On Saturday, January 17, the little town celebrated their namesake with a parade, along with a service and dinner at Palmer Grove Baptist Church.
Organizations from all over the state came to join in the celebration. The parade started at 2 p.m. and the procession was over a mile long. It was a sunny afternoon and the mode of all those in attendance was uplifting. The service echoed Dr. King's many famous words and the prayer for continuance of peaceful achievement.
