Kiwanis Club of Shelby Installs 2012 President
   Kiwanis Club of Shelby recently installed Martha Bivins as their new President for the 2012 term. Martha was born in Lake City, SC and moved to Shelby 19 years ago. She is married to Glenn Bivins and they have 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Martha is the owner and operator of Aflac Insurance in Shelby. She is a member of First Baptist Church in Shelby where she sings in the choir and teaches a Sunday School class. Martha also is a past member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors and currently serves on Cleveland-Rutherford Kidney Association’s Board.
   Kiwanis would like to thank David Costner of Fidelity Bank for his dedication and service as President in 2011. David is from Ellenboro and is married to Shannon. They have one daughter, Conley and the entire family are avid NC State Wolfpack fans.
    Kiwanis Club of Shelby was chartered on September 28, 1922. Kiwanis is committed to helping the children in our neighborhoods and communities, changing the world, one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis Club of Shelby also supports 20 Children’s programs throughout Cleveland County.
