Larry Eugene Melton
Larry Eugene Melton left this life after a brief illness on Saturday, August 29, 2020. He was born December 03, 1948 and lived his life to the fullest. He is preceded in death by his father, Boyd Melton and mother, Elizabeth Capps Brown; wife, Helen Melton.

He is survived by his son, Jimmy Melton and wife Tammy; daughter, Tammy Grayson and husband David; step-son, Ronnie Costner; brother, Carl Melton and wife Wanda; sister, Sybil Jones; three grandsons, Mickey Melton and Brittany, Matthew Melton and Kayleigh, and Jacob Miller and fiancée Hannah; three great-grandchildren; an abundance of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

He spent his working life in different weaving mills in NC and SC as a loom fixer. Larry was a giant of a man who never stood in the back ground. He was a gentle giant who tried to help anyone he thought had a need. Fishing was always a part of Larry's life. He was one of the founding members of the Cleveland County Bass Club and was always involved in the "Old Timers" fishing on Wednesdays. He always had a story to tell, especially about fishing. He always enjoyed being in the company of others. He was very active until recently. He loved his family, fishing with his friends, playing basketball with the 3F, and dancing to the music of his friends in the Crimson Rose band. "Big L" says farewell.
