Larry Kennedy

Larry Kennedy, 77, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on October 25, 2020 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

He was born in Beulaville, NC, son of the late John Franklin and Betty Jones Kennedy and was preceded in death by his first wife of fifty-six years, Brenda Kennedy. Larry was also preceded in death by his sisters, Ethel Jolly and Maina Lanier, his brothers, Laney and Levon Kennedy and grandson, Samuel Pinson.

Larry was the owner of Kennedy Homes for more than twenty years and worked in the housing industry for many years. He loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and gardening. Larry was always active and enjoyed spending time watching his grandchildren play baseball and softball. He was a very generous man and was always willing to help those in need. Larry was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. His spirit and love will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.

Son: Mike Kennedy and wife Allison, Kings Mountain, NC

Daughters: Michelle Pinson, Savannah, GA, and Crystal Prow and husband Richard, Gastonia, NC

Sisters: Lola Edwards, Jacksonville, NC, Edna Miller and husband Gene, Kinston, NC and Eleanor Hinkle, Beulaville, NC

Grandchildren: Tyler Prow, Zachery Pinson, Alexander Prow, Olivia Kennedy and Lawson Kennedy

Great Grandchildren: Tucker Pinson and Kai Lothridge

Step-Children: Erin Marley and husband Jeff, Bryson City, NC, Sara Ramsey and husband Dustin, Lydia Roberts and husband Brandon and John Denkler and wife Amanda, all of Shelby, NC

Step-Grandchildren: Bentley Roberts and Betsy Marley

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, October 30, 2020 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, NC with Reverend Dr. John Sloan and Reverend Richard Prow officiating

VISITATION: Friday, October 30, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service at First Baptist Church

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery
