Larry M. Hannon

Larry M. Hannon, 76, of Grover, NC passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving wife. He is the son of the late Walter and Pearl Hannon.
He served proudly served his country in the US Army and during the Vietnam War. Larry loved to sing, play the guitar, riverbank and boat fishing were a favorite pastime, and being a part of the New Years Shooters is something he will always be remembered for. He never missed watching the NY Yankees play baseball or cheering on the Green Bay Packers during football season. He was a long distance truckdriver for 39.5 years and spent 25 of those years team driving with his wife, Brenda.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Duan Hannon, and his loving grandparents, Rufus, and Vera Hannon.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Brenda Kay Hannon, one son Norman Sipes of Shelby, daughters, Angie Harp of Florida, Wendy Mooney of Lincolnton, and LeAnn Self (Randy) of Cherryville. A special friend, that was more like a son, Alex Head (Sherri) of Georgia; sisters, Lisa Kay Hannon of Georgia, Wanda Miller (Allen) of Georgia, Serena Taylor of Cooksville, NC, Dana Proctor of Hickory, Deborah Reynolds (Randy) of Cherryville; brothers, Eddie Hannon, Keith Hullett, Darrell Hullett (Susan), Bobby Hullett, Brian Hullett of Georgia, Jerry Ramsey (Tina) of High Shoals, and David Ramsey (Glenda) of Lake Norman, 15 grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Larry's honor to St. Jude's Hospice at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
A Memorial service will be held at Cecil Burton Funeral Home at 3:00PM, Wednesday, March 26, 2025. The family will receive friends from 2:15PM - 3:00PM prior to the service.
