Larry Newton Harrill, 81, died Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Hospice at Wendover.

A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Ralph and Zadie Pearl Pearson Harrill. Larry served in the Army, retired from Fiber Industries, and was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church, where he enjoyed taking trips with the Sonshine Gang. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and working outside. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Harrill. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, April Nolan Harrill; sons, David and Joseph Harrill; sister, Diane "Tootie" Hines Weaver and husband Sam; brother, Dean Harrill and wife Jeanette, all of Shelby; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Jane Nolan of Boiling Springs. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 6, 2023 at Flint Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Shane Kirby officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, in the church. Memorials may be made to Flint Hill Baptist Church Sonshine Gang.
