Laverne B. Eaker, age 91, affectionately known as Buzz Eaker, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 at Somerset Court of Cherryville, NC.
Mrs. Eaker was preceded in death by her husband, David T. Eaker, parents, David William Busby, Sr. and Mattie Geneva Penningar, and a brother, Bill Busby. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Cindy Eaker; two sisters,Ethel McIntyre of Florence, SC and Ann Thompson of Hamlet, NC; two grandchildren, Jason Eaker and wife, Christy of Lincolnton, NC and Jan Bowser and husband, Rod of Melbourne, Fla.; and two great grandchildren, Kiersen and Landrie Eaker.
Mrs. Eaker was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church of Cherryville, NC.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
