Lawrence "LB" Weaver

Lawrence "LB" Weaver, age 81, died Monday, November 5, 2018 at Autumn Care in Drexel. Born in Cleveland County on August 16, 1937 he was the son of the late Clement D. Weaver and Minnie Haynes Weaver. He served in both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army, retiring from the latter. After retirement he worked with his brother in a dental Lab in Gaffney, SC and later came to Shelby to help run the dental lab for Dr. Stroud and Dr. Wilson. LB was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and used to sing in the Eternal Love Quartet and Shriner's Oasis Gospelairs. He was also a member of the Shelby Masonic Lodge 744 A.F.&A.M. and the Piedmont Pistons.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Madgie Edmondson, and one brother Richard Weaver.

LB is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nellie Norman Weaver, three daughters; Debbie Webb and husband Brian of Candler, and Terra Newsom and husband Jeff of Hope, AR, McKayla Eaker of Shelby, one son, Larry Weaver Jr. of Shelby. One brother Norman Weaver and wife Betty of Gaffney and one sister Doris Hinson and husband Lonnie of Travelers Rest, SC and five grandchildren, Shannon, Alicia, Lauren, Paige, and Lane as well as eight great-grandchildren Camden, Maylee, Amiyah, Thomas and Brandon and Brent, Violet and Brianna.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Dale Byrd officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 pm until 2 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain.
