Lem Roland Lynch

Lem Roland Lynch, 76, of Shelby, NC died on Friday, May 6, 2022.

Born in Cleveland County, NC, he is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson Lynch Sr. and Dorothy Green Lynch, two siblings: Woodrow Wilson Lynch II "Woody" and Freda Lynch Gibbs (Arnold). He is survived by two sisters, Audrey Lynch Ashe (Gary) and Tina Stout McNeilly (Jim) and his brother Otis Hyman Lynch. Lem is also survived by his nieces, Tia Gibbs Dabboussi, Deana McSwain (Jeremy), nephews: Travis Ashe (Jill) and Tyler Ashe (Stephanie) and numerous other loving great nieces and nephews.

Lem grew up in Shelby, NC and graduated from Shelby High School in 1965. While a student at Shelby High School, he was very active in football and track and well known by the nick name "Night Train". Lem was a U.S. Army veteran where he proudly served in Vietnam. During his tenure there, he was well trusted enough to transport generals and dignitaries. His favorite general that he had driven was General William Westmoreland. Not long after leaving his military service, he started his own photography business, Lem Lynch Photography, and kept it going for 54 years. He also started the Kings Mountain Mirror Newspaper.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be offered to Cleveland Hospice, 951 Wendover Heights Dr, Shelby, NC 28150.

A graveside service for Lem will be held 3:00 PM., Tuesday, May 10 at Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby, NC, with Rev. Jeremy McSwain officiating the service. Full military honors will be administered by the U.S. Army and Marine Corp League. The family will receive friends following the service.
