 Leona Mae Toal passed away on January 12, 2018 in her home in Charlotte, NC, surrounded by her family. She was often, and fondly, referred to as Lee, Mama Toal, or Nana Lee by her friends and family. Raised in Detroit, Michigan, she went to school at Sacred Heart High School and returned there to work after getting her bachelor's degree in psychology at Mary Grove College. Lee continued to work in human resources after her marriage to the love of her life, Desmond James Toal, Sr., but, after the birth of the first of their eight children, devoted her life to the care of her children. The legacy built by Des & Lee, as they were known to many, will live on through the numerous lives both within the U.S. and abroad that they touched through the foundation they established together, Good Shepherd's Trust Foundation, and through their eight children, Maureen, Michael, Bruce, Theresa, Rob, Doug, DJ, and Scott, and numerous grandchildren. Lee has been welcomed into heaven by her late loved ones and is, no doubt, dancing, singing, and praising her Lord & Savior.

A memorial service will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 20 at Monte Belmont Lounge, 1 Belmont Avenue, Belmont, NC, United States. |
