Mr. Leroy Vinson, Jr. 69 of 1829 East Marion Street Apt. 1306 Shelby, NC passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby. He was born on June 5, 1951 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Leroy Vinson, Sr. and the late Alvesta Clements Vinson.

Leroy was a 1968 graduate of Burns High School and received an Associate's degree from Cleveland Community College. He was employed at Hoechst Celanese and retired as an electrician for over 35 years. He also ran a painting business in Cleveland County and the surrounding area which he was excellent at.

Leroy was a member of Jones Tabernacle C.M.E. Church where he was a member of the Stewart Board for over 50 years and served as recording stewart. He also sang on the choir and really loved singing. Leroy loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching sports especially football and baseball with his favorite team being the Atlanta Braves.

He leaves to cherish fond memories of him to his son, William Lamont Gist (Tina) of Shelby, NC; three brothers, Forest Vinson (Rebecca) of Cherryville, NC, William Vinson (Marie) of Shelby and Dale Vinson of Panama City, FL; two sisters, Wenda Vinson and Brenda Nix (Rev. John) both of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Cervante Gist (Ana) of Pensacola, FL, Danica Gist, Shakira Gist and William Gist all of Shelby; one great-grandchild, Rayana Surratt; close friend, Janice Morgan and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside services for Mr. Vinson will be private. He may be viewed at S. T. Enloe Memorial Chapel from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Burial will take place at Jones Tabernacle C.M.E. Church Cemetery in Lawndale, NC. Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloemortuary.com. Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
