Lewis Edgar Wright, age 86, died Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Carolina's Medical Center-Main. Born in Rutherford County on August 18, 1932 he was the son of the late Eulon E. Wright and Mae McKenny Wright. Lewis was the owner of Wright's Logging Company. He was also a long time member of Rehobeth United Methodist where he was the driving force behind the annual barbecue sponsored by the church. He will be remembered for his unending love for his family and as a man who was willing to help anyone who was in need.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Fay Eric Wright, as well as two brothers.

Lewis is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patsy Greene Wright of Shelby, one daughter, Jane Glover and husband Jackie, one son, Dale Wright and wife Carol, and daughter-in-law Tracy Wright all of Shelby, as well as, ten grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren including his special little nurse Finley Rose Wright, and one great-great granddaughter.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Rehobeth United Methodist Church with Rev. Randi Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, February 15, 2019 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory from 6 pm until 7:30 pm.
