FALLSTON: Lillie "Marie" Poteat Durbin, 70, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died Friday, August 30, 2019, at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Asbury and Pearl Truelove Poteat. Marie was a faithful member of Friendship United Methodist Church for 45 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters. She is survived by her loving of husband of 45 years, Stephen Durbin, of the home; daughter, Tammy Wright and husband Lee; son, Lee Durbin and wife Lisa, both of Fallston; step-daughter, Dolores Newton and husband Michael; step-son, Kenneth Durbin and wife Allison; grandchildren, Tommy Hudson, Weslee Durbin, Brandon Ware, Ritchie Webb, Sam Newton, Crystal Waters, Christopher Durbin, Zeric Durbin, Cody Durbin, and Madison Bower; and five great grandchildren. A celebration of Marie's Life will be held 4pm, Wednesday, September 4^th, 2019, at Friendship United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Neil Bower officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church, and other times at the home of her son, Lee, 110 Circle Dr., Fallston.
