Linda Bridges Walker, 80, of Lawndale, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Atrium Health-Cleveland.

Born on April 7, 1946, in Cleveland County, Linda was a daughter of the late Robert "Buck" Elbridge Bridges and Bessie Eugenia Wright Bridges. She retired from the Social Security Administration after many years of dedicated service. A member of Friendship Methodist Church, she served as a Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) counselor. Linda was also a supporter of the Burns High School Band, where she had served on the Band Booster Club and as its treasurer. She found great joy in reading, tending her garden, sitting with her cats and spending time with her grandsons.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert Earl Walker; two brothers, Andy Bridges and Jack Bridges; and one sister, Shirley Bingham.

Linda is survived by her loving sons, Scott Walker and wife, Candace, of Fallston, and Tim Walker and wife, Candis, of Boone; and three grandsons, Zeke Walker and Nathaniel Walker, both of Boone, and Adam Mitcham of Granite Falls; three nephews and four nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, July 13, 2026 at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston with the Rev. Wes Brown and Rev. David Holden officiating.
