Linda Gail Revels Dorsey, age 77, of Forest City, NC, passed peacefully Monday, January 29, 2018.
Born June 20, 1940 in Mayo, SC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Leroy Revels and Juanita Vera Gilbert Revels.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R. Douglas Dorsey and two brothers, Thomas Howard Revels and John David Revels.
Linda had a long fulfilling career in the medical field , ranging from ward clerk, assisting in labor and delivery, to working in local nursing homes. In her high school years, she was proud to be co-captain of the girls basketball team and drummer in the band at Chesnee High. After her retirement, she became an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Teresa Lynn Gore of Hampton, Virginia, Catherine Lea Shaneberger and husband, Matt of Forest City and Wendy McLaughlin Price of Ellenboro; two sons, Timothy Charles McLaughlin and wife, Katy of Forest City and James Randall McLaughlin of Cheboygan, Michigan. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A private memorial service has been held. Those who so desire, may make donations in memory of Linda to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org
Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
