Linda Godfrey, age 73, of Forest City, passed away, Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Fair Haven of Forest City.

Linda was born Saturday, July 31, 1948 in Rutherford County to the late Walt Lavender and Ethel Green Lavender. She was a dedicated Christian lady and homemaker. Linda was a longtime member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church and loved studying her Bible. She enjoyed coloring books, crocheting, arts & crafts and anything that sparkled.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by J.B. Cartee.

Left to cherish fond memories are her daughters, Angela Pittman of Ellenboro, Carla Thompson of Kentucky and Barbara Branch (Scott) of Mooresboro; three sisters, Margaret Clark of Forest City, Betty Henderson (Harvey) of Henrietta, Ruby Thrift (Gary) of Gilkey and a brother, Garland Lavender (Susan) of Gilkey. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bobby Thompson, Deana Short, Chris Pittman, Lisa Brownfield, Ginger Lawter, Christy Oliver, Angel Wilhide and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A family directed memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Spindale Fellowship Holiness with Reverend Buddy Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for their care and compassion during Linda's illness.
