Linda Lane Collins Thompson, 78, of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Carolina Care Health & Rehabilitation Center, Cherryville.

Born in Cleveland County, on September 14, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Odus Andrew Collins and Mary Hamrick Collins. She was retired from Kemet and also worked as a care giver for over twenty years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Wayne, James Edward, Bobby and Buddy Collins and three sisters, Reba Sisk, Brenda Pearson, and Mildred Peterson.

She is survived by two sons, Steve Thompson and wife, Diane of Spartanburg and Randy Thompson and wife, Karen of Shelby; two brothers, Billy Collins and wife, Donna of Mooresboro and Tommy Collins and wife, Connie of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Betty Scott and husband, Richard of Shelby and Patsy Stroup of Shelby; two granddaughters, Maggie Thompson and Lacey Thompson and four great-grandchildren, Paisley Thompson, Brantley Thomas, Elena Thompson and Dominic Thompson. She is also survived by her beloved animals Mikey, Miss Kitty, Suzie and Gibby.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 11:00am at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tim Sims officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Cleveland Memorial Park.
