Linda Lou McSwain Sweezy Black,

Linda Lou McSwain Sweezy Black, 85, of Shelby, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Peak Resources-Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County on November 8, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John Leonard McSwain and Reba Moore McSwain. She was retired from Crest Middle School. Linda was an active member of Double Springs Baptist Church, the Joy Club, Hand Bell Director and Minister of Music for many years. She also was a worker for Relay for Life Conquerors Team and also directed many weddings through the years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Sweezy and second husband, J.H. Black.

She is survived by son, Rev. Jimmy Black and wife, Amy of Shelby; daughter, Jeannie Loveday and husband, Shannon of Shelby; brother, Leonard McSwain and wife, Brenda of Shelby; and three grandchildren, Hunter, Kenneth and Joseph Black.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 29, 2021, at 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at Double Springs Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 11:00 am at Double Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Black officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Cleveland Memorial Park.

Due to Covid it is requested that masks and social distancing be observed.
