Born July 1, 1926 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Jones and Elsie Wray Jones. She was a retired sewing machine operator and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Andrew Self, son, Phillip Andrew Self, two brothers, Fred Jones and Flay Jones, four sisters, Nellie Wray, Nora Ledford, Lois Bowling, and Lillian Beaver, and one great grandchild.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary & Judy Self of Shelby and Wayne & Peggy Self of Lawndale, four grandchildren, Tina Crews of Lakeland, GA, Wendy Queen of Shelby, Janice Jones of Warsaw, and Kristy Rykard of Lexington, SC, and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 until 7:30PM at Stamey Funeral Home.

Memorial Graveside Service will be Sunday at 2:00PM at Clover Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim Sims officiating.
