Lloyd Dixon Self, age 95, passed away Sunday May 14, 2023 at TerraBella of Shelby. Born in Cleveland County on December 18, 1927, he was the son of the late Roy Bryant Self and Lottie Mae Waters Self. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Ruth Self, brother Cecil "Buddy" Harold Self, daughters Sherry Self Francis, Dixie Self Conn and his great grandson Kameron Francis.

Lloyd is survived by his daughter Terry Self Melton (Larry Ray) of Shelby, NC and Dee Self Kazinec (Brian) of Atlanta, GA. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren; Mark Melton of Charlotte, NC, Todd Melton of Shelby, Chad Melton of Shelby, Jessica Ezeigbo (Ambrose) of Roanoke, VA, Daniel Conn (Raquel) of Roanoke, VA, Luke Conn of Roanoke, VA, Adam Kazinec (Brittney) of Atlanta, GA, Joel Kazinec of Atlanta, GA, Misti Francis Arter (Nathan) of Blacksheer, GA and Mathew Kazinec of Atlanta, GA, as well as, 7 great grandchildren, Brock, Bailey, Logan, Kaleb, Kaley, Jack, Calvin Michael, Matthew and a special nephew Andy Sisk.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mary Minorik for her love and care for Lloyd.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 20, 2023 in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. Committal will be held at Mount Moriah United Methodist Church Cemetery in Casar following the service.
