Lloyd Wayne "Bill" Shull Sr., age 88 of Oak Street passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Peak Resources in Shelby. He was born June 8, 1930 in Gaston County to the John Clifton and Marie Peeler Shull. Bill was a member of Second Baptist Church. He was a talented musician who raised his family to love and play bluegrass. He enjoyed farming and turtle hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Poston Shull; sons, Lloyd Wayne Shull Jr. and Warren Daniel "Dan" Shull; and 12 late siblings.
Survivors include his sons, Don and Kathy Shull of Waco, Joel Shull of Greenville, TN, Rob and Phyllis Shull of Unicoi, TN, and Jeff Shull of Waco; daughters-in-law, Penny Compton of Lawndale and Loretta Shull of Waco; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will private. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3:00 to 3:45 PM prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
