Local Fishing Report with Tammy Melton

Cleveland County Bass Club fished their 1st tournament of 2021 on Saturday, January 16 at Mountain Island. I cannot even describe the cold and wind. It was bad...real bad. However, it did not stop a nice bag being caught by Jeremy Bouldin. It was a struggle for almost everyone else.

Here are the results:

• 1st place Jeremy Bouldin, 5 fish, 14.04 pounds.

• 2nd place Roger Beaver, 3 fish, 4.34 pounds.

• 3rd place John Rankin, 2 fish, 2.62 pounds.

• 4th place Jimmy Melton, 2 fish, 1.94 pounds.

• 5th place Charlie Canipe, 1 fish, 1.16 pounds.

The Carolina Bass Club fished Lake Norman on Jan 16. They had 7 teams show up to fish, it was cold, the wind blew and even some light snow was seen. The team of Russell Cook and Jacob Cook won 1st place weighing in a catch of 11.15 pounds, and winning the big fish of the day award with a 3.86 pounder. 2nd place was the team of Stan Brackett and Aaron Ruff with 9.50 pounds, and winning the 2nd big fish of the day weighing 3.12 pounder. Phil Murray and Dean Ford took 3rd place with 9.10 pounds. The Carolina Bass Club fishes Mt. Island Lake on Feb 20, 2021.
